Archery ‘have a go’ fun

 We are Free Spirit Archers, members of the English Field Archery Association (EFAA) and the National Field Archery Society (NFAS). Join us in our safe and friendly woodland environment, and participate in a fun shoot. Perhaps you may enjoy it so much, that after you may want to take our full beginners archery course and then join an EFAA or NFAS archery club. The experience is for both novices and experts alike. Lasting for approximately 2 hours (depending on the groups size).  You will be shown the basics of how to shoot a bow, have fun with others and have a great experience. You will be guided by an experienced archery instructor who will set you up with the equipment and show you how to shoot safely and confidently. When you have got used to shooting on the practice targets, your group will be led on an expedition through the various 3D target range in the woods.The cost of this experience is £20.00 per person.  If you have a group of less than 5 people you can join us on one of our monthly have a go days. See the course schedule tab for a suitable date.  Alternatively, book a private session,  if you have a party of 5 or more people (One organiser gets a free place if there are a minimum of 9 paying guests). Archery Training Course
We offer a 2 week training course which is open to all (over 14 yrs of age). It is really useful if you are considering joining an NFAS or EFAA affiliated field archery club to shoot on a regular basis. Course cost is £80.00 including handouts. Over the two, two hour, weekly sessions our experienced archery instructor will teach you the basics of Archery including:How to use a bow, Correct stance, How to string a bow, How a bow works and it’s components, How to check equipment, The different types of bow, The different types of arrows, How to use a sight, How to choose a bow and arrows that are right for you, How to shoot consistently and safely, How to shoot and score official field archery rounds, what to do next (the options available).  You will receive a certificate of competency at the end of the course.  Alternatively we offer an intensive course for smaller groups over a 1 4 hour session basis.  This is arranged by appointment to suit.  Call or email us to arrange a time to suit.
